World Environment Day 2025 – “Our Land. Our Future.” 🌱

Theme: “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”

Every year on June 5th, the world comes together to celebrate World Environment Day – a global platform to raise awareness, take action, and encourage collective responsibility for the well-being of our planet.

In 2025, the focus is on restoring land, building resilience against drought, and reversing desertification. The health of our land is directly linked to the health of humanity. When we restore degraded land, we create jobs, increase food security, reduce climate impact, and revive biodiversity.

Over 40% of the world’s land is degraded, affecting nearly half of the global population.
Climate change, deforestation, and unsustainable land use are accelerating droughts and food insecurity.
Restoring just 15% of degraded land could avoid up to 60% of expected species extinctions.
